Model’s Instagram

With most of my clients having the content they needed going into Christmas, I had some free time to focus on some personal, creative projects.

I reached out to Robin, who is a model based in the Cork area. I thought her aesthetic would work really well for a few ideas I had.

We didn’t have a strict plan in terms of styling, and as you can see we used a few different looks. The main focus for me was to be creative, and to capture a range of different content (photography + videography) so that I could post to all platforms.

Robin was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I hope to collaborate with her again in the future.

Video Portrait

The primary focus of the shoot was video first. Recently I’ve been really inspired by a super talented videographer called Mabo, check out his YouTube channel here. So I wanted to do something that was of a similar vain.

So we focused on recording video first, and then depending on how much time we had, we would move on to photography afterwards.

We actually recorded each scene twice, one in a 16:9 ratio, and then vertically in a 9:16 ratio, and my plan was to upload a separate video portrait to instagram in a vertical resolution. But because I liked the landscape video portrait so much, I decided just to post that. with Instagram’s 90 second reel limitations as well, I didn’t want to change the timing or pacing of the video.

I’ll be uploading a behind the scenes of how I shot this to my YouTube channel, so stay tuned if you’re interested in that!

Photoshoot

After we captured what we wanted video wise, we moved on to capturing some photos. This was an absolute breeze as we had relaxed a little bit more. *It’s important that you make the model feel comfortable, particularly if it’s your first time working together, or if they’re not used to video etc. With Robin, we got a drink beforehand and went over what we had in mind, and that really helps to give a bit of room for both of you to relax into the shoot.
